Review of the Gujarati Films – Prem Rang, Fillam and 3 Doba

This is the 13th blog of my #31Days31Blogs project.

This blog has my review of the Gujarati Films released in February and March 2016, which were published by THE MUG magazine. Details of the publication here.

Release Date: February 26, 2016

Hiten Kumar charms the audience once again with his magical performance. Pari Parmar & Chandani Chopra succeed in creating an impact on the audience. A romantic movie with an apt mix of comedy, it is an interesting family entertainer. However, it might have a disconnect with the urban Gujarati youth.

Release Date: February 26, 2016

It is the debut of the director Vishal Vada Vala and the star cast. The storyline is muddled and the color correction is improper at several instances. However, the music by I-Shoj Kytrak is fabulous and will be sung by many at various occassions. Though the film has made a dent in Saurashtra, it hasn‘t been able to create a buzz in the state overall. The efforts of the entire team deserves an appreciation.

3 Doba

Release Date: March 25, 2016

Once again a movie in the comedy genre in the Gujarati Film Industry. This one is about three physically impaired brothers whose lives take endearing turns when they meet a beautiful thief. A feeble story with an unconvincing cinematography, it is not the best theatre experience. However, the screen presence of Maulika Patel is laudable.

Lost & Found – Short film

Release Date: March 14, 2016

Rihaan Patel impresses all time and again with his short film ‘Save the Earth from Climate Change | Be Earthian’. All of us are aware that smoking is injurious to health and pollution is injurious to our mother Earth. The same is conveyed brilliantly in less than 120 seconds via this short film. Moreover, it has been considered to be telecast on the PBS network in the US.
