Restaurant Review: Aamchi Mumbai (Ahmedabad)

This is the 3rd blog of my #31Days31Blogs project.

About –

Aamchi Mumbai restaurant is located at Parking Area, Mauryansh Elanza Building, Near Parekh Hospital, Shyamal Cross Road,Satellite, Ahmedabad 3800015. I have not visited it but tried their food by home delivery.

Well, I have had two experiences with them till date and both have not been good. The first experience was on 31st March 2016 when I ordered the lunch meal by the Zomato Order App. The delivery did not happen within the stipulated time. I waited for about 10 minutes post the deadline but there was no call/update from Zomato Order App or the restaurant and hence I had to cancel my order. Post that, I ordered my lunch from Kabir Restaurant that day.

My second experience with Aamchi Mumbai was on 26th April 2016 and again by the Zomato Order App. I ordered for the lunch meal of Rs. 110. They charged me Rs. 20 extra for delivery (usually restaurants give a free delivery) and I gave it, since I was excited to try their food. The order this time was delivered just in time.

So this is their fix lunch meal. The rotis’ are really good and so is the salad, but you don’t pay Rs. 130 for that. The taste of the sabjis’ is average. The dal and rice are mixed which could have been avoided. And for the price they are charging (which is higher than the market price of the restaurants of this league), they should also provide papad and butter milk.

Rating

Delivery punctuality 2 Once it never came; and the 2nd time it was JIT.
Freshness 5
Taste 2
Packing 3 The portions get spilled into others’ compartments – see pic.
Quantity 3
Pricing 2 Way too high priced compared to the competition (and the taste).
Overall 2.83 Out of 5

Recommendation

NO for the lunch meal! Since I haven’t tried other food items, I am not sure of how they taste. Moreover, I haven’t had a dine-in experience so am not sure of their ambience and service; hence cannot comment on those.
