Yesterday, I was with Mukesh, my neighbor, at his home. He had come home early from work and hence we got the time to chit-chat. While we were talking, the door was belled and a red tshirt guy handed over a small box to Mukesh and left. Then, Mukesh opened it, took out the SIM Card and put it in his phone.

“Who was he?” I asked out of curiosity. I had never seen someone deliver a SIM Card.

Mukesh smiled and replied “The Airtel executive. He delivered the 4G SIM Card”.

I was taken aback by this reply. Mukesh then told me the entire scene which surprised me more. “Gone are the days when one had to find a SIM Card dealer in their neighborhood, plead him to take out time from him so-called busy schedule and with great efforts get a SIM card from him. Now, Airtel has made it feasible for one to get a 4G SIM Card by just one tweet! Yes I know we live in India and am very much serious. They are all set to create a revolution by just 140 characters. And well, it doesn’t end there. All of us struggle with the ultra-slow internet speed these days and wonder that when Indians will also enjoy the internet speed as described by our distant relatives in the developed nations. Well, Airtel is revolutionizing that too!”

I could not control my excitement and interrogated him further. He did not entertain me more because his mobile and high speed was entertaining him. I decided to postpone my questions and we watched few videos on YouTube. I think three hours went by when my phone ringed and I got to know that the dinner was ready at home. Time flew with the non-stop internet service of Airtel 4G.

While I was going home, Mukesh stopped me and said “Got a 4G phone? Want Airtel 4G? Tweet using #GetAirtel4G for a free SIM home delivery.” I again stopped and asked him “Are you serious?” He continued “Yes very much. Airtel offers a unique 4G SIM delivery service, wherein any Airtel user with a 4G handset can tweet using #GetAirtel4G to get a 4G SIM delivered to their home for free. Once a user tweets #GetAirtel4G he gets a reply from @AirtelIndia handle directing the user to a link where a user need to enter his details for SIM delivery.”

WOW! That was amazing. I could not control the excitement and decided to tweet it off right away. But then when I opened the Twitter App on my phone, it refused to open up, thanks to my internet connection of a company I do not want to mention, because their dog will follow me and I am afraid of dogs.

That night, I went to Mukesh’s home again and requested him to allow me to use Twitter on his phone. He was kind enough and handed me his phone. I logged in and tweeted to Airtel. I couldn’t control my excitement and went ahead to tweet “Wow Airtel is sending free 4G SIMs to their users who have 4G handsets. Just need to tweet #GetAirtel4G” and felt proud doing that. Seeing my excitement, Mukesh also couldn’t control the temptation and he went on to tweet “Tweeted with #GETAIRTEL4G & got a new SIM at my place in 4 hrs!”

I wish all the best to the Airtel team and thank them for the revolution they are creating. All those who haven’t done this, go to Airtel 4G for more details. And yes, Tweet and upgrade yourself with the Airtel 4G SIM Card!
